Washington D.C. Cherry Blossom Parade

Kristina Janolo and I up bright and early ready for the parade!
On April 12-15th, I had the opportunity to travel to Washington D.C. and be a part of the Cherry Blossom Parade. While in Washington D.C., my mom and I saw the Washington Monument and the White House. On Friday night I attended practice for the parade. I met the new Miss America 2012, Laura Kaeppeler and reconnected with some of my Teen State title holders! On Saturday at the crack of dawn I attended another practice before the parade with the Miss & Teen State title holders, Miss America, and Miss America's Outstanding Teen. The parade started at 10 and we performed twice during the parade route. Laura Kaeppeler sang God bless America while Elizabeth Fechtel danced and the remaining title holders held American flags. I felt privileged to be a part of such a remarkable parade and had an unforgettable experience!

The Road to Victory

On March 24th, I attended "The Road to Victory" in Winter Park. It was a historical military reenactment that was sponsored by the Orlando Scottish Rite Masonic Center. This event benefited the Masons. I learned a lot about World War II, guns, vehicles, and shelters for the soliders. I really appreciate what our millitary has done for this country!

Ice Cream Social

Handing out cakes!
On March 24th, I was a Celebrity Server for the Ice Cream Social that benefited Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Florida. I helped serve cake and chose the lucky numbers for the cake walk! There was a silent auction, Jeremiahs Italian Ice, Blue Bell Ice Cream, Private Island Ice Cream, Root beer floats, Sundaes, performers, face painters, Caricaturist, and fun games for the kids! This was a wonderful way to cool off on such a hot day. I thoroughly enjoyed this special event!

Thank you Blue Bell Ice Cream for donating Root Beer floats and drinks!

B.A.S.E. Camp Overnight

On March 31st, I volunteered with B.A.S.E Camp overnight at West Gate Vacation Villas. The children started off with free ice cream, saw the movie Ratatouille, and ate pizza. Then the clouds cleared up and I played a round of miniature golf and rode the paddle boat with the kids! For dinner, Olive Garden donated pasta! I had such a great time with the children :)
